High School Confirmation Preparation at St. Laurence is a one year process. Our goal is to help participants deepen their personal relationship with God, develop their sense of belonging in a living Christian community, and personally ratify their membership in the Catholic Church. It is assumed that the process of confirming the faith has been ongoing in their lives and that it will continue to be renewed long after their Confirmation.

We are now accepting registrations for the 2011-2012 Confirmation preparation. It is open to sophomores and juniors. Families will have 2 options to choose from:

Super Sundays 2:00-6:15…Class will start in the RE Center at 2:00. Then teens will go to Life Teen Mass. Because of the longer time in class, teens will only have 2 classes a month. Teens will need to attend 2 out of the several Confirmation Service Day opportunities that will be offered during summer 2011. Parents and teens are asked to attend one orientation session in fall 2010.

Tuesday Nights 7:00-8:30…Class will start in the RE Center at 7:00. This class will meet an average of 3-4 times a month. Tuesday night teens will need to attend 2 out of the several Confirmation Service Day opportunities that will be offered during summer 2011. Parents and teens are asked to attend one orientation session in fall 2010.
*Both sessions are limited to 115 teens.

To register for Confirmation classes, you can download the RE Family Registration form located on the main Religious Education page or forms are located at the Religious Education Center, which is across the street from the Church. Volunteers are always needed for CCE, please consider offering of your time in one of the many wonderful opportunities to get involved. If interested in volunteering, please fill out the RE Volunteer form located on the main Religious Education page.

* A special package is available to high school students preparing for Confirmation. For $170 you get 2 years of high school faith formation!
Your schedule would go like this:
Fall 2010: Life Teen
Spring 2011: Confirmation
Summer 2011: Complete 2 Confirmation Service dates
Fall 2011: Complete Confirmation Preparation
Spring 2012: Receive Confirmation in early January and attend Life Teen
