WELCOME, FR. TOM HAWXHURST!
On February 1, we welcome a new priest to St. Laurence! Fr. Tom Hawxhurst was newly ordained on January 14th and we couldn’t be happier that he’s joining our parish family! For 14 years prior to entering the seminary, Fr. Tom was a teacher and coach at Incarnate Word Academy and served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. You’ll get the chance to meet him next weekend when he will be introduced at all Masses.

Praying the News
PRAYING THE NEWS
January 29, 2011
He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.
Mark 1:27
O Lord, protect us from evil, and from despair that tempts us when we encounter evil in the news - terrorist bombings of religious pilgrims in Iraq, the massacre of innocent women and children in South Sudan, a serial killer in California. You are our hope. Help us to believe in what we cannot always see - your love and mercy at work in the most troubling circumstances.
Jesus I trust in you.
